Brewing Company - Viking Beer
Iceland has a short brewing history but have a holiday called "Beer Day" (1st of March) celebrating the lifting of Prohibition in 1989. The low carb, full strength, pilsner is the countries highest selling beer.
When poured this is a straw coloured beer with a white head that dissipates. Despite the diminished head there remains good head retention providing a favourable hoppy aroma. The beer is clean and crisp with a well rounded bready malt flavour. The beer provides good bitterness making the beer refreshing and enjoyable. For a country with only a 23 year history of brewing Iceland have created a fantastic low carb beer that the World brewers should take note of!
Veredict - Excellent
