Brewing Company - Rocks Brewing Company
One of the highlights of the Bitter & Twisted 2011 was stumbling across the Rocks Brewing Company stall. The Rocks Brewing Company is owned and operated by fifth and sixth convict descendants. Rocks beer is currently only available on tap in selected pubs around Sydney.
Named after several early governors who prompted the advancement of beer brewing in the early colony of Sydney, "The Governor"is made with Australian ale and wheat malt and brewed with a new Australian hop variety called Topaz. When poured is a light golden straw colour beer with a white head providing a light malt and citrus aroma. This is a light tasting beer with hints of citrus and subtle bitterness, perfect to combat the heat at the Maitland Goal.
Verdict - Excellent
