When poured this is a hazy red amber beer with a beige head. A fresh grassy malt aroma with some roasted notes to be savoured. On tasting, the beer has a light/medium body with toffee and mellow roasted flavours dominating the palate followed by some bitterness. The label misguides the consumer with the notion of "strong heavy ale". Whilst the ABV is a little higher than usual this could not be further from what we consider a heavy beer. This beer is no doubt drinkable as we both polished our glasses off with little effort, but this beer is a little bland and may only be appreciated by those that love the main stream beers. Overall an interesting attempt that resulted in an innocuous beer.
Verdict - Good
