Brewing company - Duvel Moortgat
For generations Duvel has been considered a masterpiece of Belgium brewing. Brewed similar to the pale ales brought over by British troops during World War I it was proclaimed 'Da's nen echten Duvel' (that's a devil of a beer). Initially named victory ale it was renamed Duvel in 1923.
This is a Belgium strong golden ale, when poured this beer is a light golden colour, with a large frothy head. Great carbonation combined with a zesty fruit aroma makes this an extraordinary beer. Banana flavour with citrus notes and a smooth balance of hop and yeast, Wow. A nice sipping beer as a replacement for Brandy or Whiskey. Be cautious though at 8.5% ABV this beer looks tame as you are seduced by its light golden colour, generous head and unique flavour, but it will knock you off your donkey. A perfect celebratory beer.
Verdict - Perfect
